Half the Sky Contest Rules

Timeline: Contest ends June 15, 2010.

Eligibility: There is no purchase necessary to enter or win. Book clubs or reading groups who have registered with Mercy Corps and/or set up an online personal fundraising page on mercycorps.org are eligible. Staff members of Mercy Corps and its affiliates and their immediate family members are not eligible. Affiliates include Mercy Corps vendors and contractors.

Prize: The book club that compiles the most impressive record of activism by June 15, 2010 will receive a visit and discussion session with Nick Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, the authors of Half the Sky. Nick and Sheryl reserve the right to arrange a "virtual" visit depending on the winner's location.

How to enter: Enter the contest by registering your book club and/or creating a personal fundraising page. For help, contact Minda Seibert at mseibert@mercycorps.org or 503-896-5741.

How it works: Contestants will be required to fill out a submission form before the contest ends. Groups will be judged on money raised, number of donors, events held, advocacy efforts, publicity garnered, and creativity and impact in their activities. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and notified by email or phone. Decisions of the Mercy Corps contest judges are final.

Fundraising: Funds raised will go to Mercy Corps' One Table campaign, which supports all the work Mercy Corps does around the world, including our efforts to fight hunger by investing in women. All proceeds must be submitted to Mercy Corps before the contest ends. Publicity: Contest submissions become property of Mercy Corps and may be used for marketing or publicity purposes.

Other: These rules are subject to change. Mercy Corps may elect to terminate this contest prior to awarding any winners by its sole discretion.
